I’m a stress baker. And the holidays, no matter how hard I try to be zen or how early I prepare, are inevitably stressful. The days feel shorter, the to-do lists grow longer, the kids are out of school, and I’m easily thrown out of the comfort of my routine. The best way for me to bring it all back into focus is in the kitchen.
If you’re like me, and if you need a new recipe to help you process…well, everything… I want to give you the gift of Taylor Swift’s chai sugar cookie recipe. They are ridiculously easy to make and they never fail to lift my spirits.
Give them a try. You’re worth it.
And may you have a Happy Thanksgiving filled with gratitude for the things that matter most in life (…and those cookies).
This week on My So-Called Midlife, I got to dive in to a topic that is near and dear to my heart: caregiving.
Yvette Nicole Brown is an Emmy-nominated actress, writer, producer, and podcast host. And while she’s most known for her work on Community, The Odd Couple, and Act Your Age, the role that has meant the most to her has been that of full-time caregiver to her father Omar for over a decade. And if that wasn’t enough for one midlife, she also found true love in her 50s!
I’m so glad Yvette came on to share her wisdom on aging, family, dating, and self love. If you’re in the sandwich generation, or coming up on it, you can’t miss this episode. I promise you’ll laugh through the tears.
You can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your pods.
